Music Program

Our Contemporary Music program offers an extensive range of opportunities for students from grades 7 - 12. These include instrumental lessons on guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboard plus ensembles such as Junior Rock Band, Middle School Rock Band, Junior and Senior Guitar group, Sound Production and Choir.  As well as in-school and community performances from VCE students and various instrumental combinations we have annual music events throughout the year.

These include:

  • School Production 2021 Footloose school production is an extra curricular activity available for students grades 7-12 

  • Rock on the Rocks Every Thursday Lunchtime students have the opportunity to perform outside the music room to a big crowd of the staff and students. 

  • The Top Acts VCE Performance in early March in which VCE Music Performance students observe the previous year‘s top practical performers at Melbourne Recital Centre.
  • Beechworth Music Camp at end Term 1. This is open to Instrumental students in years 7-12. It is a three day North Eastern region camp of approximately 120 students of varying music abilities. Students rehearse and perform in ensembles, choir, and bands which culminates in a final public concert on the last evening.
  • State School Spectacular held in September for years 8-11. Choir and vocal students rehearse and perform at Hisense Arena as part of Victorian State Schools Performance Extravaganza. There are approximately 1000 students involved
